Dragon Mania Legends Guide

In Dragon Mania Legends you’ll prepare an army of dragons for battle as your create your ideal homeland in the world of Dragolandia. The experience is similar to other dragon breeding games with cute baby dragons to breed into powerful and fearless fighters.Dragon Mania Legends brings over a hundred dragons to your mobile device with a journey that requires you to build the necessary habitats to hatch baby dragons and feed them to fuel their growth. The start of your Dragon Mania Legends experience is very economically focused with players encouraged to build up their dragon island with resource generating farms which are used to generate all sorts of tasty food for your dragons and expand the number of dragons that you can support on your island. While you’ll start with only a small number of dragons these species quickly expand as you level up and build the necessary habitats. Raising your dragon allies is about much more than just building a home with Dragon Mania Legends focusing more on raising which involves training, feeding and petting to level up for better stats and more income per hour to invest back into your island. Once you feel comfortable with your raising techniques the arena is where you’ll get the longevity of gameplay. Battles are turn based and will pit three of your dragons against another player. Unlike other games that automate a large part of their battle system Dragon Mania Legends gives the player some control by allowing you to direct attacks and alter their strength through a meter that pops up on the screen and requires careful timing. You will then be able to forge the seal go 6 hours ahead of time. That will help speed things up, including being able to finish things. Once you have 6 seals, a dragon called "Chronos" will appear on top of the Mystic Cave, which will crack and open him. He speeds up 6 hours of time each 4 days. Various applications and websites have been developed around the game, that can help to select a team or to breed specific dragons.  Dragon Mania Legends takes the dragon breeding genre in a good direction with a hands on battle arena and impressive dragon variety.

Players begin Dragon Mania Legends with one dragon, but can recruit more by building additional habitats and breeding their starter units (or purchasing dragons from the store with coins used in the game or premium currency, gems, that cost real money). Players can upgrade their dragons by feeding them, and will produce dragon feed in their farms. Feed production, breeding and other tasks take time to complete, but players can speed this up by spending premium currency.Players spend energy to enter turn-based battles, with battles seeing players drag a dragon’s element on top of an enemy to attack. This begins a meter, and players are challenged with tapping when the meter is in either the gray (normal attack) or green (perfect attack) areas. If players stop the meter in the red area, their attack misses. Battles continue until all enemy units have been defeated, and players earn items like experience points and dragon feed after each victory. Players can spend premium currency on a VIP upgrade to unlock additional rewards after these battles. VIPs also have the ability to complete more battles before waiting for their energy to recharge, and can participate in VIP-only events. VIP accounts aren’t permanent, but rather last for a limited amount of time, in relation to their cost. In addition to the game’s single-player story mode, gamers can enter the Arena to face off against other players for exclusive rewards. The players can login with Facebook to receive a free, exclusive dragon for their habitat. There are many dragons, each one has 1, 2, or 3 elements. There is Fire (1st dragon in-game), Wind (2nd in-game.) and many others, but in the tutorial you get the basic dragons for free and get guided with a To-do list. There are 6 structures named ruins and can be explored: The Mystic Cave, Ghost Ship, Wildfire Marsh, Skull Gate, Ancient's Palace and Magma's Lair. Each structure can give you a seal. When you have 3 shards, the structure you used to get those shards will now be complete.

Dragon Mania Legends includes over one hundred species of dragons to discover and plenty of side missions to tackle. Combat sequences are turned based pitting your dragons against the Vikings. The game is available for low-memory Windows Phones, as well as Windows 8 devices, and after spending a few days with the game, Dragon Mania Legends is a fun way to pass the time. One thing is for certain with Dragon Mania Legends, the game provides you with plenty of guidance as you play. A host of characters will guide you through the various tasks involved with game play from helping you with the combat sequences to breeding your dragons to creating new buildings in your city. Even the new tasks or missions that become available as you play Dragon Mania Legends are very user friendly. The task list is pulled up from the control button in the lower left corner of the city view. New tasks will have an exclamation mark flashing besides the icon and they include missions such building kingdom structures, battling Vikings, breeding dragons and more. At the successful completion of a task you will be rewarded with a variety of items that include (but not always limited to) gold, gems and food. Structures include farms where you grow and harvest to feed your dragons, dragon habitats to raise and house your dragons (cannot have them just wandering about) and temples to help train your dragons. New structures, renovating old, harvesting food for your dragons and training your dragons will cost you some gold that can be earned through combat or generated by your dragon stock. Some items and tasks will require gems that are also earned in battle and accomplishing various tasks. You do have in-app purchase opportunities to buy gold and gems (along with other items) but I have to say that earning gold and gems isn't very difficult with Dragon Mania. It won't take you long before you have a dozen gems and tens of thousands in gold.

Battles are turned based that pits your dragons against your Viking opponent's dragons. The battles involve up to three of your dragons and prior to the fight, you can pick/choose which dragons will be waging battle. You can enter battles by accepting missions from the task button or simply roam the islands to pick a fight. Battles are scored from one to three stars and can be re-played to increase your overall scoring.  Dragons specialize in specific, singular element (fire, wind, earth, etc.) with a few of the species being dual elemental dragons. You also have boss dragons that will become available that will produce more gold and help train the other dragons. Dragon eggs can be purchased using your gems and gold or you can breed your dragons to raise your own. The mechanics of combat is simple. When it is your dragons turn to attack, tap/hold on the elemental symbol and drag it to the dragon you want to attack. Keep in mind that some dragons are more susceptible to certain elements than others. Green sword icons will appear beneath dragons where the attack will be the most effective. A red sword means the attack will not have much effect and a yellow sword will mean the attack is along the normal levels. Once you've selected a dragon to attack, an attack strength meter will appear with an arrow that will move up the meter. Tap the screen before the arrow hits the red shaded portion of the meter. If the arrow makes it to the red shaded area, your attack will miss. If you tap the screen while the arrow is in the green shaded area, the attack strength will be perfect and inflict more damage.  Dragons specialize in specific, singular element (fire, wind, earth, etc.) with a few of the species being dual elemental dragons. Part of Dragon Mania Legends’ gameplay belongs to dragon-raising, which takes a lot of inspiration from DragonVale. You hatch dragons, breed them in hopes of finding rare animals, and keep them in pens that accumulate money. You can even pet your new friends to earn a little extra cash. Battles are also a big part of Dragon Mania Legends, and there are plenty to be had. Dragon battles are generally three-on-three, and you pull a dragon’s elemental medallion onto a rival in order to strike it. There’s an elemental hierarchy at work (water over fire, fire over nature, etc) that you should adhere to if you want to win. For starters, there are a lot of dragons to breed and collect, and they go far beyond the basic fire dragons and wind dragons you begin with. There are smoke dragons, bee dragons, and even a melon dragon – a colorful dragon with a slice of melon wedged into its head. It’s silly, ridiculous, and amazing. I took a particular shine to the Salamander, a shiny black slug-like dragon that flops around with its tongue lolling out the side of its mouth. Very majestic. The graphics on this game are some of the best I’ve seen, not only on a game of this style but of most other games as well. The environments are beautifully detailed and colourful and the dragons themselves look almost real in a cartoon sort of way. The animations and effects of the element attacks are pleasing to the eye as well.
